‘Never let a young cat get pregnant!’I did have a shock this morning as a close friend had brought a kitten a few months back a little girl tabby hence her colour.....Well, she rings me at 6.30 this morning very upset to tell me tabby had given birth to 3 small dead babies. I was so shocked as her cat is only 7 months old!!!!! I can’t believe she could be irresponsible as she was aware that her cat could get pregnant! Any one with a cat under a year old should NEVER let their cat get pregnant.....you run the risk of the litter being born dead or worse losing the queen! There is a pill available from the vets. I urge people to use if you’re not going to spay your cat!!!! Queens should be rested for up to 12 months before another litter is even considered. I take in cats all the time which people have discarded, most of them queens who had been used to keep churning out kittens. Then when they could not any more they was chucked out abandoned - it breaks my heart to think all these cats having litters then there discarded. The point I’m trying to make is: if you get a kitten, do it right and look after there every need never endanger her by letting her have kittens too young and, if she does has babies, find good loving homes and then get her spayed!!!!!!!
