Whiskas

by Jessica McCaffery
(Portland, Oregon)

Whiskas has always been our Brownie's favorite. No matter what taste, he always likes it. It has something to do with Whiskas, not with the taste because if I buy a different brand with the same taste he plainly refuses to eat. Don't know what Waltham puts in it, but sure it's irresistible!

I wonder if others have the same experience.

Brownie is a 7-year old male. We had him castrated last year. We suspect he's the father of about 10 little cats here in the neighborhood. Unfortunately I must add, because I think there are too many (homeless) cats already.

Nevertheless I love to visit your site! It's a wonderful resource for all cat lovers, not just those with a pregnant cat.

Maybe I submit a photo of Brownie in the near future. Don't have one now because we don't have a digital cam but we plan to get one.

Doubts about Whiskas
by: Anonymous

It certainly smells strong. My cats are used to the best dried catfood, and when I served up a Whiskas chicken sachet they were falling over themselves to get to it. Not long after eating it they seemed a bit hyperactive (more kitten-like?).

So I'm left wondering whether there is anything addictive in Whiskas, and whether it contains any stimulants. I won't be buying any more until I'm reassured that it's non-addictive and additive-free.

Some of my cats too
by: Marc

Jessica, thanks for your contribution.

I noticed the "special effect" of Whiskas with some of my cats in the past too. I think it has to do with flavor. Whiskas smells heavily - I know even people sometimes like this flavor - and that's what makes cats eat.

I once read a report saying Whiskas is healthier than many other brands, but I'm not sure how objective that statement was.
