Yes indeed NEW
by: Anonymous

My Mavrick was 2 rs old when Storm came to live with us. He HATED her lol. Now as they have gotten older and 2 more cats have joined our home, thy are attached at the hip. Rarely do you see Mavrick without Miss Storm close by. Our other male has gotten our other female pregnant and now that Storm is in heat he is trying for her. She however is not having it! She attacks him and sends him running. She does however try to get Mavrick to pay attention to her by shoving her butt in his face. He is neutered and just proceeds to bathe her lol. She wants him to love on her SO bad but won't let our other male within a 5 ft radius of her!

True love does exist
by: animal lover

Whether or not they are related or not I do feel animals can and will love. Dogs will love cats and vice versa. I have 3 cats all from different parents all different ages, its not a tollerance its true love. They are outside cats (fixed and shots etc.) they kill the mice in the yard and shed they bring eachother their kill like in the wild. They help eachother and protect eachother from raccoons and opposims. They snuggle up together to get warm or for safety doesn't matter. We snuggle up with our loved ones for warmth and safety so do they. I also have a dog (inside dog) but goes outside and the cats all come around him and lay on him they bring him mice too (which i have to take away) lol. Animals can and will love. And like others have said they ignore or seem not interested in the other for some time. I too ignore my man when he agravates me. But I still love him. Congrats on keeping an open mind to the love animals have.

I happen to have two female cats who are very attached to each other and won't accept male cats at all. They constantly groom each other and sleep wrapped around each other.

kitty love
by: 5catsInIowa

I have a male bengal named Buddy. Last summer, a neighborhood queen left me her litter of 3. By winter, I managed to socialize the two females and they came to live inside. Buddy absolutely fell head over heels in love with the tortie-shell girl, Peanut. He grooms her, plays with her, sleeps with her, dotes on her -- it is the most adorable thing I've ever seen. When she goes outside, he looks all over the house for her. He shows no such interest in Sally, her sister. Anyone who says that cats cannot "fall in love" needs to come and watch Buddy and Peanut. She is very affectionate with him as well and does not show my other male (Bob) the same attention that she does Buddy. It is obvious that the two have formed a bond that is very strong.

I believe in cats true love!
by: Amanda

Last year I adopted 2 gorgeous kittens - both from different litters. The female is a bengal cross and the tom is a black and white moggie.
I was worried at first as they clashed but now the male panics if he's in a separate room without the female and they won't go outside without each other - although I have to say the female is less dependent.
I have had many cats before but none have bonded like these two. They sleep entangled in each other and bath each other daily. It's very nice to watch.
We now suspect that the female is pregnant so fingers crossed all goes well and we can then get them both done and they can just grow old together without the worry of little ones running around!

That's so cute! I want a cat, but I doubt my dog would take kindly to an intruder in our house.

Precious
by: Donna

Whether or not cats 'fall in love', it's obvious that your pair of cats have bonded. They've connected to each other and are very happy and content with each other. Enjoy their relationship and let them do the same. It's precious to see a bonded pair of cats and you are very lucky. Too sweet! Love it!!!!!!

My cats ♥
by: Anonymous

I had the same thing happen with my cats. They spent so much time grooming and spending time with eachother. Then she went in heat and would aviod him like the plauge. Though, he tried to sneak in a few times, and from what I saw, she didn't like him. But thats only what I saw.

When I found she may be pregnant, I wondered if the kittens would be his. But they all came out black, whereas he is ginger and she is grey.

I miss her though, shes been missing ever since we started fostering a dog. I don't think she'll be coming back, we haven't seen her for nearly a month. I still hold hope that she'll be back though. Now, a kitten from her first litter is expecting and i'm so excited for this, even though she's a little young :s

I don't agree
I have seen cats "in love" and can't say that they are any less devoted than humans can be.

Me too!
by: Jenna

I 'adopted' a tom cat when we found him in our garage after he had been thrown out of a passing vehicle. We live out in the country, so most people have outdoor cats, and my little tom cat seems to have fallen in love with our neighbors female. She is pregnant and they are glued to each others sides. It's weird. All the other cats I have known leave each other once the mating is done. I swear he thinks he is human :P

My best friends cat and my cat are in love!
by: Elizabeth

My boyfriend and I adopted a kitten when we found out my best friend would be moving in with her little man. The kitten we both fell in love with was, and is, female and both cats are unfixed. Initially they fought pretty frequently but as we forced them to spend time together they have become inseparable. They follow each other everywhere, and when we take one out the other will not cuddle or eat until the other returns. Now, my female is pregnant, and the father (The male cat) helps her nest and move the blankets and towels in her birthing box. He demands to be in the room with her and screams at the door when he's shut out. He takes such good care of her, I hate to think of the day when my friend and I go our separate ways to start our own families!

We also recently acquired a stray. She was living in the dumpster with her "husband," as we call him. She's inside now and pregnant...he hangs around the house all the time and is the father of this new litter. The kitten from their previous litter also has made our house her home. It's like a human family!

Affectionate Cats
by: Alison Adams

I have a male and female cat that seem to be attracted to one another, but in the past week, we havent seen the male cat around the house. Though neighbors have said they've seen the male down the street and he seems to have taken shelter at another home. Does there affextion end at some point?

my cat s are in love too!
by: tammy

I also have a male and female cat that are in love. I recently acquired a female stray and the female here simply will not tolerate her near my male cat. They have had two litters together and it is rather fun to watch them interact. When the two females get in to an altercation the male jumps in the middle of them and breaks them up. He then literally bullies the stray female into a different room and goes to the mother of his babies and licks and holds her. People who see this happen are amazed at their actions. It is great to watch how they interact with each other. They sleep curled up together and are constantly washing each other. IT is awesome!
