Trinity

The day we brought Trinity home

The day we brought Trinity home

We got Trin Trin in August of last year (2008) after a friend down the street asked me to get her out from under a car. They were terrified of hurting her and knew I rescue alot of animals and find them homes.

I couldn't resist this little joy. She was too young to eat, drink, or even keep herself warm! Her tail was broken in 3 places and curled into a small ball-like nub.

I let my husband and children know this blond furball had stolen my heart and I just couldn't imagine her in a home other than ours! Although we have 2 dogs, they agreed. I think they were more worried about me than about Trin, because our cat, Kit-Kat, had been catnapped the previous May.

I looked at our older dog, Chance, and the "pup" Scarlett and decided this kitten would be our last animal for a long while. I haven't quit rescuing, but this would be the last to find a permanent home with us. Since she was pet number three, I named her Trinity which has evolved into Trin Trin or just plain Trin. She also answers to "Little One" but only for me.

My husband and I took turns helping her with the water and food. The kids adored playing with her or just feeling her soft fur. Chance, being the alpha-male he is, completely ignores her. Scarlett loves to nip at the back of her neck until Trinity gives chase, and if Scarlett is NOT nipping at her, Trin is attacking Scar's wagging tail.

But her favorite place when she first got here was with me... she'd lie next to me and get warm from my body heat. Even though she is more than capable of keeping herself warm, she still climbs up on the highest part of my body and naps. Trin is such a quiet cat too. She only meows when I meow back or when her food bowl is empty.

Trinity escaped last month through a hole in the floor and we looked for her out in the rain and cold over a 3 day period. I was heartbroken and terrified someone had taken her like my previous cat. I didn't know what to do and would cry very easily over the loss of my little one.

But, one night after I had tucked in the children and my husband and I were watching television, we heard her hungry "meow"! Imagine my shock when I saw her standing by the couch and looking up at her "daddy"!! The next day, I was setting some seeds and she walked past the deck steps, with the house door being on the deck!! This is how I discovered her escape route through the floor and temporarily repaired it. It angered her a bit, but now I am tickled to have her sleep on me whenever she likes!

I see Trinity being a part of this family for a long time to come!
