Tinkerbell Story With Sad Ending

by Steph Darrington
(Hemel Hempstead, UK)

Tinkerbell and Fluffy Man (JD).

Tinkerbell and Fluffy Man (JD).

A few months ago I wrote on this page about my cat, Tinkerbell. Well, on the 7th of october she finaly gave birth to six beautiful kittens. she had two boys and four girls.

It all went well apart from the first one being born with a broken tail, which eventually fell off! The second one, a tabby boy, was born but my cat just ignored him. After about a minute I had to break the sac to get him breathing again.

We had a few scares with Tinx as well over the last eight weeks too. She stopped eating and looked terrible. She's fine now thankfully.

My ex boyfriend decided to keep the boy that was born second. We found all the others good homes with family and friends. Everything was fine until on saturday 1st december he was found dead in the washing machine. We are all heartbroken.

I had heard stories about cats getting into the washing machine to sleep. I never thought it would happen to me.

I named him JD because they were my dads intitials, he died nearly 3 years ago now. To anyone reading this with a kitten, please remember to check your washing machine before turning it on!

He was more like my baby than a pet, and all because of the one time we didnt check where he was, he is gone. RIP little fluffy man, mummy and daddy will love you forever and never forget you. XXXX

Hi,
Sounds like you had some fun kittens!
So sorry to hear about your one baby :-(
I think my cat may have some little creatures in her tummy ;-)
I'll watch the washing machine when they are born!

I'm very sorry
by: Marc

Hi Steph, I'm very sorry to read what happened to JD. Finding the little boy must have been a terrible experience for all of you.

Yes, you are right, people owning kittens (and also mature cats!) should check their washing machine before using it. Also, try to keep the door closed if you're not washing.
