Tina - The Kitty With A Mission

by Cleo
(Takoma Park, Maryland)

I have a cat named Tina, she's about between the ages or 8-11 months old now. A few days ago she started walking around with her butt in the air (like she was showing herself off).

My mom (not being a cat expert like me) said that she was constipated. But after all of my years of cat research and animal rescue league volunteering, I knew she was in heat. My mother said she was going to get spayed soon anyway.

But just about a day ago I took Tina outside for some fresh air because she was rolling around on the living room floor. She was fine at first, but then she started freaking out and ran into the bushes, I tried to reach for her but she hissed and tried to scratch me.

After several attempts to get her out I took a break, but unluckily my 13 year old neighbor decided to try and "scare" her out of the bushes.
Well that didn't work out and Tina bolted down the street like speedy gonzales.

Knowing that she is in heat she will most likely come back prego. My mother says if that happens she wants to get an abortion, but I think that is a terrible and cruel idea. But since this is her house we have to go by her rules, does anybody have any answer to persuade my mom into letting Tina have this ONE litter? Please help, and thank you for listening.

(By the way the picture of her is when she was 8 weeks old, and the boy is my neighbor.)
