The Success Of Four Little Kittens

by Nicole

Our little kittie-rats lol :D

Our little kittie-rats lol :D

My first blog was on Bogus and how I found out he was really a she an pregnant.

Well, good news. She gave birth on the 19th January 2008 (a day after my 18h lol) around 4 am. Here's the story.

I opened my bedroom door to get my cellphone since my cousin said she'll call when she gets back from the club, and my boyfriend following close behind.
I closed the door an Bogus came out of my cupboard and was all lovey-dovey with me and was meowing in a way I never heard her before.

I sat down crossed-legged and she climbed in and I'd take her and put her back on the newspaper in the cupboard. Yet she kept climbing out and into my lap. Finally she settled on the carpet. My boyfriend and I managed to slide a towel and newspaper under her.

Now you could hear the strange noises and purring going on as she was giving birth. My boyfriend went to call our friends who were staying for the night after my birthday party. They thought I was mad as I was talking to her.

She struggled a lot with the first kitten, she ran in little circles pushing then lying down. She never kept still while giving birth. The rest came a little quicker than the first little one and everything was over just before 6 am. There we had 4 little wet looking rats.

You couldn't get me away from it! It was the most amazing experience ever. Now they are nearly 8 weeks old we are left with only 2 kittens now. My mom's little liquirish and a black little entertaining monster. I miss the other 2 as well. They looked exactly alike except the triangle on their noses :-).

So things are a little quieter now, except for at night when Bogus plays with them around my room when im trying to sleep :-).

Just a thought

Although seeing kittens being born can be an amazing experience, it can also at times be a very sad one for both owner and cat. Please have your cat neutered if you havn't already.

Cat breeding 'should' be done by registered breeders who follow strict guidelines to ensure mother and babies are well and survive.
This information is for all cat owners, letting your cat out unneutered is a VERY irresponsible thing to do.
