Stray Toothless Feline Adopts An English Teacher

by Miss Confused
(United Kingdom)

Last Saturday, a stray cat began hovering around the front door, much to the delight of two animal loving daughters.

This feline was incredibly thin but emaciated and covered in 'bumps'!

After an initial alarm, ' Don't let that dirty animal come inside; it might have fleas!' was exclaimed, a more reasoned side emerged and I found myself engaging in the girls amour.

This straggly, mid-length haired tort appeared in distress.

Firstly water was offered - lapped up in an instant, the next was food; we were smitten due this starving animals' plight.

Taking her into our down-stair w.c, I examined her. She appears to be pregnant; two canines were visible whilst bolting food; caressing discovered a multitude of bumps and yes, you guessed it fleas.

Fearing an infestation at home, I administered 'Frontline'.

Next morning, a closer examination revealed only one tooth at the top and one on the lower jaw, however no other teeth and white gums were the result of my investigation.

She appears pregnant with a bulging tummy and movement in the form of lumps?

I have no idea what to do to help this cat, but my feelings are to 'abort' the unwanted litter as the mother will be unable to care for her young on delivery, leading to distress for both her and me - what would you do?
