Stray Queen SASSY!!

Sassy Mamma Prego

Sassy Mamma Prego

One day in April my boyfriend noticed this so cute and sweet cat (who looked about 10 months old or so) in our back yard curled up by our outdoor BBQ/Fireplace. Him with such a big heart and such a softie he picked her up and brought her in to show me and also to feed the poor girl as she looked really skinny.

When he showed me the cat I asked him "where did he find her"? and he told me and I felt so sad for her that we fed her and right away she took to both of us rubbing against us and purring as well. We thought that she might belong to someone so after we fed her we let her out again. Since that day she has not left us. She does leave the yard but she seems to come back to us.

She has been with us for 2 1/2 months now. I guess you can say SASSY adopted us!! I started noticing about 7 weeks ago that her nipples were out and pink and she was getting really big in the tummy area, and I said to my boyfriend "I think she is pregnant" and he said "NO, she is just gaining weight because we are feeding her so good".

But as being a female and a mother myself I was sure that she was pregnant. Then I just started feeling the babies move as well noticing movement in her tummy as well a week ago.

To confirm that I was right that she was pregnant we made an appointment with our vet (which was on July 08,09) and he did also confirm that "YES, SHE IS PREGNANT" and that she was very far in her pregnacy that she was "DUE ANYDAY NOW".

WOW we were shocked that she was so far along in her pregnacy but we were also very happy too!! So now we are just waiting anxiously for that day to come. She has been very very affectionate and also very clingy as well since we found out. Before she got knocked up she was a little bit affectionate with me but more to my boyfriend. She also has been following me around alot to this last week.

If anyone can tell me when a cat is pregnant is it normal for her to still be very playful with another cat? (We have a male) but he is fixed. Also she still likes to climb and jump up on things and that makes me so afraid for her to either lose her babies or go into premature labor. She also cries to go outside even though she is almost due?

I will let you all know when the big day comes!!
