Raising Kittens: Little Henry

Raising kittens is rewarding, but not always easy. Brigitte from Australia sent Cat Pregnancy Report the following story:

My daughter's cat had three kittens and it was her first litter. The only experience I have with cats is that they fall pregnant, have kittens and look after them.

Unbeknown to me, Snowy had no milk for her kittens and she had no idea how to look after them. Two of her litter died but one (Little Henry) survived and I have been raising him since he was three days old. Tomorrow, he turns 4 weeks old.

I have learnt alot about cats in this short space of time. For example, kittens do not know how to go to the toilet themselves so I had to get some damp cotton wool and wipe around the genital area which would induce his passing of urine and faeces.

It has been a very rewarding experience to raise Little Henry but you need to dedicate yourself to them in their crucial start to life.
