Poppy Is Due Any Day

by Jenni
(Kent, England)

Poppy 61 days pregnant

Poppy 61 days pregnant

My fifteen-month-old cat Poppy is pregnant with her first litter. She is aprox 61 days pregnant and looks fit to burst.

I have set her up two nesting boxes, one downstairs and one upstairs in quiet rooms of the house but as of yet she does not seem that interested in them.

She has been trying to get into all sorts of cramped places such as behind the sofa and in the kids toy boxes so I am really hoping that when the time comes she picks one of the nesting boxes to give birth in and not somewhere silly where I cannot reach her or endangers the kittens.

I would really like to be there when she gives birth to ensure it runs smoothly with no complications but I do worry that when the time comes I will be out or asleep and will not hear her.

I feel like the days are now dragging and can't wait for her to go into labour. I do not think it will be today as she has been eating for England and is showing no signs of restlessness (just wants to sleep in the middle of my kitchen floor.)

I am curious as to how many kittens she will have and am betting no more than four. We will have to see.

Keep you updated.
