the dog might be a threat to "her" house. keep the dog on a leash while she gives birth but, keep the dog in the same room.but, not in sight!
stay with her during birth. it will comfort her and it may help with labor.
this helped me in 2 births of my cats!!

They are here! by: pixie charm
On July 7th "Rile" had five beautiful kittens. She had a very hard labor as the first two were stuck in her birth canal together. With help over the phone from the vet I was able to get them out. My poor beauty was too exhausted to do anything and my son and I had to clean the babies, cut and tie the cords and place them at their mothers nipples. The whole labor lasted 7 1/2 hours and we were all so pleased when it was done! I cleaned up my Queen and changed her bedding. The most awesome part is that two of the kittens were born with halo's! One of the female's have a white halo and a male has an orange halo! The two female's are black and white and the three boys are orange and white. I've never been witness to something so beautiful in my life. These "miracle" kittens who made it against all odds will be spayed and neutered and homed with wonderful, caring people who have come from other town's to pick them out only two weeks after they were born! Of course they will not be leaving my home until they are about ten weeks old. Has anyone ever heard of a kitten sucking it's thumb? (dewclaw) Well I have two that do it and it is so adorable that it melts my heart!
