Our Baby Stalin

Stalin and Mommy, her 2nd day home, 5 weeks old.

Stalin is now, a 6 month old Russian Blue. She has been basically our daughter since we first laid eyes on her when she was 5 weeks old.

Stalin was found by a good samaritan at 3 weeks old, inside the mouth of a dog who was trying to have her for dinner. She spent the next two weeks at an animal hospital, and then was taken to our neighborhood pet store to find a home.

I walked into the store, without my fiance Michael, just to look. The first thing in the door was this gorgeous baby, a big eyed Russian blue that just struck my attention.

Michael and I have a thing for Russian blues and well, finding one was not easy, so when I walked in and saw her, I just knew she was it for us. I bought her that moment and took her up to meet Michael at work. He fell in love with her the minute her eyes looked at him and she has been our baby since.

Stalin's name was picked out before she was even born and she fits it sooo PURRRRRfectly. Joseph Stalin, a dictator in Russia during USSR times, is the namesake for our little girl... mainly because of her father.

Michael loved the name for a russian blue and I even came to like the name mainly for it's masculinity on such a beautiful little girl.

Stalin's favorite game is FETCH, played just like a dog. She has a favorite toy, a little blue mouse that works perfectly when throwing for hours... She will bring the toy to us, place it in our hand and then sit and wait for it to be thrown. The second it is, she takes off, only to bring it right back and play for literally hours!!

She is our little sweetheart, we adore her.
