My Wee Kitten Brie Is Pregnant!

by Liz
(Northern Ireland)

Brie Aged 3 months

Brie Aged 3 months

My 8 month old long haired ginger kitten called Brie is pregnant. I took her to the vet today to have her spayed and the vet told me the news.

He said he "thinks" she is 6 weeks. She has mammary gland activity, he was able to feel her swollen tummy. Her mood has changed - normally she is very active, vocal and affectionate but now she just sleeps.....

BUT i asked myself who is the father????? You see Brie has a brother also 8 months old, he is called Crackers BUT there is also a stray mature tom (who we call Charlie) who roams around our garden on a permanent basis.

I am hoping that her brother is not the father because I wouldn't want the kittens to be ill in any way.....But I am sure I will know when Brie has her kittens because Charlie is black & white and Crackers is ginger.

I'm in the same situation
by: Debbie

I am in the same situation as you my cat Tari is 11 months old and she is pregnant, I had her brother Taz neutered last week, but not before she got pregnant, I’m not sure how far along she is.I am hoping that it’s my neighbours black cat that got her pregnant and not her brother, all I can do is wait and see, I just hope it turns out ok in the end.

I had waited to get her neutered because she’s so tiny and it’s a big operation and I decided to wait until she showed signs of calling and flirting, but she didn’t show any of the signs of being in season, it probably wasn’t the best idea I have had.
