My Cat Got Out

by Steph Darrington

Lazy Tinkerbell, before she got pregnant....

Lazy Tinkerbell, before she got pregnant....

Oh No She Got Out!

On the 30th august my cat, Tinkerbell, 5 months old, jumped out of my 2nd floor flat window.

She was there when I got up at 3 in the morning. At half 8 when I got up to make a cup of tea, she had disappeared!

The only place she could have got out of was the kitchen window and it was a tight squeeze even if she was small. So I went downstairs and there she was, with a tom chasing her!

They both quickly vanished over a fence and I didn't see her again until about 3 that afternoon. Even then I still couldn't get hold of her. Every time I went near her the tom would start hissing at me. So I left her to it, thinking she will be hungry soon.

I went to find her again at about 5 and when I went outside, I could hear a high pitched screeching. Of course it was coming from my cat!

My first thought was: oh no, I dont want kittens! I went off to get her food and she came running over, as she was eating my boyfriend (now my ex) got hold of her. As soon as we got her back in she curled up and went to sleep and didn't move until the next morning!

We were sure she was pregnant from then on.

Today i noticed the kittens are moving and I was really strange to think she got babies in there!

She lives with my ex coz I moved back to my mum's. I see her everyday to make sure her pregnancy is going ok. Being a typical man he wants nothing to do with it. So I'm going to stay at his while she's giving birth.

I do feel sorry for him, he's going to have 7 cats running around the flat!

Now she's got a week and a half to go and she's huge! She must be really uncomfortable, she can't lay on her stomach any more.

I'm really excited but nervous for her at the same time! I love her like a baby! Now she's having babies of her own and she's only 7 months old.
