My Cat Gives Birth
by Maykayla
(Florida)
I was sleeping on August 21, 2009 and I heard a kitten screaming. Then my little sister wakes up about 2 seconds after I do and then my mom wakes up 5 minutes afer we did.
So I look to check on my long haired calico cat (mommie now) and she has one kitten born already. About 2 minutes before we did so she was chewing on the sac and the umbilical cord.
It was so beautiful to watch these 3 kittens being born from 4:36 am first, 4:58 am second and 5:22 am third. They are white orange and all black with a white nose and white belly and white socks. They all are so beutiful to see them.
But be cautious - you never know when your cat is going to have kittens. So 3 weeks before she is expected to give birth make a nest and pick her up. Keep putting her in there 3 times a day even put kitten chow (mix it with her original food so the kittens will be healthy when born).
Also be cautious that some of the kittens can be unhealthy but you don't know it, so take the mommy and kittens to the vet for a check up because one of my kitten was putting it selve into a hunger strike and didn't eat for 3 day. We even forced her to eat but she didn't. She died on the floor too weak to get up and died slowly into the light.
