My Beautiful Kittty Gave Birth

by Kate
(Australia)

My name is Kate and I am 13 years old. In December 2010 on the 26th I awoke to something petting my face. I opened my eyes to see a little ginger kitten staring at me.. I freaked out and sat up immediately to find another kitten sitting down by the window but this one was grey with white socks, they were very skinny and wet.

I noticed my window was opened and my window sil was drenched so I must of left my window opened and they climbed in. I got up and closed my window and slipped on my dressing gown, it was very cold! I then grabbed a rug from my wardrobe and wrapped both the kittens in it like a butterfly in a cacoon and tucked them in my bed and hugged them like a teddybear until they fell asleep. I stayed up all night worrying about them but they seemed comfortable.

I got up around 8:00 to find my family sitting on the couch. I was about to say that I was woken up by two kittens when they yelled out happy birthday...I FORGOT ABOUT MY 13TH BIRTHDAY. I then told them about the kitties but they didn't beleave me so I went into my room to find them.

They were still in my blanket so I woke them up and carried them into the lounge, my family couldn't beleave it. My dad was furious and rang up the pund straight away. I started crying begging my parents to keep them. My mum snatched the phone off dad and they spoke in their room for a while. My brother wanted to hold one so he took the ginger but it kept wriggling to try and get away. Finally he let go off her and she ran straight up to me.

My parents came out of their room and dad said that I could keep one as an extra birthday gift. I immediately said THE GINGER. I got them both and gave them a bath. Mum came in and asked me what I was going to name her. I said Matzo which ment bread. I named her that because that is what we fed her when she first came.

We gave the gray one Elle to my friend and it was all good. She is 6 months old and is now nurturing her 3 beautiful babies. She got pregnant with the neighbours cat - a beautiful bengal cat and we are keeping one that looks like the father. We named her Melissa because that is the neighbours name.
