My 8-Month-Old Kitten Is Pregnant
A few months ago we decided to adopt a kitten as our 2 year old cat Cleo had just recently lost her brother and was very lonely.
Our cats would always have the option of outdoors and indoors and so they were spayed and neutered, but we decided after the death of Cody to keep Cleo and our new kitten Bella indoors.
About 5 weeks ago my sister left the door open and out runs Cleo followed by a curious Bella. A few hours later Bella didn't return so my dad went looking for her only to find her with a huge tom cat, she hasn't been outdoors since.
We haven't thought anything off it until her nipples started to get larger and pinker, this past week her belly has become noticeably larger, with past experience we are certain she is pregnant. We are concerned because two years ago we had taken in a very young pregnant stray who given birth to 5 kittens and within 12 days lost one because she was unable to feed them all and became very weak and thin, the point the vet thought she may die.
Luckily my father has lots of experience in hand rearing kittens because of fostering, so if the worst happens I'm sure he will intervene this time and give Bella some help.
Right now I'm super excited about welcoming a new bunch of babies and watching them thrive.
