Maisy's First Litter....Please Advise

by Gemma
(United Kingdom)

My 10 month old cat Maisy is pregnant. The first month her character changed (she became quiet, sleeping LOADS, chasing male cats from her territory and never wanting to go outside).

I know this is normal for a pregnant cat, but there was hardly any weight gain in the first month, just huge nipples. I took her to the vet and the vet said she was unsure if Maisy was pregnant, but guessed by her other symptoms that she probably was. So annoying there was no access to an ultrasound that day.

I am now convinced that my lovely Maisy is pregnant, and she has now put on weight although she is a small cat, and I can see the kittens moving, its amazing!

I'm guessing she is around 7 weeks gone.

Can I ask more experienced people with this matter, how long after you saw the kittens moving inside your cat did she actually deliver?

Also, I have another 9 month female cat in my home who is a bit hyperactive and very playful. Is it advisable to keep my cats seperate until the babies are born?

Thanks in advance.

Help for You! (Again)
by: Abigail

Sorry Gemma, I forgot to tell you to seperate your cats or not. Yes! Seperate them! The hyperactive female will get on the pregnant female's nerves. (Believe me I know) And the pregnant female might seriously injure herself, her kittens or the hyperactive cat. Hope that helps!

Well,
7 weeks is about 60 days so in a few days your kittens should come! Good luck to you!
