"Great to see her tummy swell!"

Exciting times for Sarah from the UK: her Koko got pregnant... for the first time.

Hello there.....

Well my story goes like: I have a 2 year old bengal x called Koko who is expecting her first litter shortly. We have been told its not a big litter just 3/4 but all the same I’m very excited but worried too... As I've been told first time queens seem to have the most problems! Fingers crossed that the birth will go well!

Well what a great 8 weeks it's been so far. Learning all about her pregnancy has been great watching her tummy swell and watching her starting to nest all this in just 9 weeks. Simply amazing, and I can't wait to meet the new arrivals!

Here is an update Sarah sent a few weeks later:

Today is sunday the 22nd of October 2005 and today Koko gave birth to 5 little smashers!

She started this morning meowing away so I did the normal and went to feed to her but nom she turned her nose up. So then I got her litter tray but nope it wasn’t that. She wanted me to go upstairs and sit with her!!! Which I did.

After 20 minutes of her gentle meow I knew she was in the first stage of labour, so I took her temp 11.25 am as she had been meowing on and off for about an hour, but I was a bit confused as it was reading normal?

But by 2pm she was very restless and did not want me to leave the room, then by 4.55 she was pushing and just after 5 the first one was born tail first no probs! A brindle colour weighing a 110 grams, after 10 min came the second a peach n cream weighing 102 grams, 17 min later came an all black one weighing 94 grams the smallest! 12 min later came the fist all white one weighing 109 grams and last came the other all white weighing 111 grams they was all fine.

Koko was fantastic!!!! She knew just what to do and I cant believe just how big the kittens are, Mind koko was fed 8 times a day and had multi vits which probably helped - hahahah - and I’ve just brought a ton of kitten food to make sure she lactates properly!!! I’m just pleased everything went so well and so quick..

From a now a very happy cat lover xxxxxxxxxxxxx
