You should wait until he mother cat gets tired of the kitten and she has had enough of the kitten to give the kitten away. The reason is because this way you know that she will not miss the kitten when you do give it away to someone else. It is best though to give the kittens away at about 8 weeks or so and to be on soild kitten food or using the litter box.
