Hermoine Got Out And Got Some

by Reena
(Tulsa, OK)

This is probably what drove the local toms wild!!

This is probably what drove the local toms wild!!

My kitty, Hermoine, is less than a year old and just barely into her first heat. I hadn't expected her to go into heat so early and was going to get her spayed as soon as I got settled into my new place.

As I was moving to another apartment in the same complex, I was carrying her to the new place and she freaked out and got out of my arms.

She took off running and was gone for about 4 hours. When she finally came back, she was walking funny and licking "down there." There were two males in front of my apartment looking rather satisfied, high-fiving each other..

I knew something was up. They had violated my little Hermoine!! The Horror!

My first thought was.. "OH NO!" Knowing there are so many unwanted kitties out there, I was upset that she was pregnant and felt irresponsible for not getting her spayed sooner, but unfortunately, I had been laid off from work and had just gotten another job.

I was so busy playing catch up with my way overdue bills that I figured, since she was an inside cat anyway, the spaying could wait.. she was still so little anyway.

Well, anyway, She's probably about 5 1/2 weeks along and is starting to gain weight. I am worried about her having babies at such a young age and wasn't sure for a while if the pregnancy took or not. But, since she's starting to gain weight and eat a lot more, I'm thinking it has.

Hopefully, since she wasn't out for long, she won't have very many. By my calculations, we should be seeing babies in early February.

I'm worried sick because she's still a baby herself!! I'll keep you posted!

My cat bonkers is less than a year old and we kept putting off her vets appointment to get spayed. Well, around christmas time she went into her first heat and got out of the house and when she came back she wasn't in heat anymore. I just now realized (a month later) that I think she's pregnant. I would rely like to hear if your cat has healthy kittens because I'm worried about my little bonkers. good luck!

Young Mums.
by: Teesh

I too had 2 cats that were less than a year old, they were indoor cats, but jumped out of a double story window at home and both got knocked up. Both Storm and Rogue were so little themselves, with these huge bellies on them, but had 5 and 6 beautiful healthy kittens.

I wanted to keep them all, but my parter said I would turn into the crazy cat lady!!! They all went to good homes. I would often catch Storm and Rogue swapping kittens, or one would feed while the other would clean them for her.

Hi Reena, thanks for your contribution about Hermoine. Yes, she's young, but no worries, even young cats can have babies. For more information, please visit:
