Question
by: Anonymous

Question? A week ago my prego ready to pop any day cat was overly affectionate and meowing a ton. I thought by now the kittens would be here but after a day and a half of it she stopped and has been her normal self. She is starting to sleep more the last few days. I don't know where abouts time frame she got prego but I do know her nipples are lactating. Should I be worried?

Discharge
by: Anonymous

I am so glad to hear that! I have been searching everywhere for info on this. My cat has been "leaking" for three days...sometimes clear and sometimes a little bloody. I called my vet but they said I should only be concerned if the discharge was greenish/black or smelly (it has no odour. However, they also said that I should be having kittens within hours (i called them the first day) and we still have nothing. She is happy (purring) and affectionate so I am not too worried...yet.

Yes
by: Rah

I would say that yes it is common, but we don't usually see it. There is water in there filling up all the space in the uterus- and that water has to come out sometime. Usually the water just seeps out and the mum licks it away as quickly as it comes.

However, in my case, I have a momma cat that actually had her water break this weekend- a bunch of odorless, colourless fluid gushed out and then more slowly seeped out for several hours afterwards.
