First Birth

by Megan
(Rhode Island)

On April 4th 2007, I was sleeping when my cat woke me up. She was meowing. Then she started purring, then she started growling. I didn't know what was wrong with her. I thought that she might have been attacking me or something, so I screamed for my parents.

As they were coming I realized that she was twitching and her stomach was moving. At that piont I knew exactly what was happening. It was her first time so nobody knew what to do. We left her alone and shut the door.

When it was quite we went in and expected to find the kittens in the box. But instead we found a cat that was still in the sack. We didn't know what to do so when we finally opened it it was too late. Then we heard a soft meowing and looked under the bed and found a little kitten. We kept the kitten and still have her.

On July 9th She had her second litter. I felt the kittens moving before she gave birth but I went out with my friend. When I was gone she went into labor. My older brother and my little brother helped her open the sacks. She had four kittens. When I came home my dad told me that my room was dirty and I had ants in it. But I thought to myself how I cleaned my room yesterday. I walked in my room and saw the kittens. I was so surprised.

Now today (febuary 23) her babies are moving again and she is acting weird looking around the house and stuff. She is sleeping in her box. But we don't know when she is going to have them. I keep think today, but I'm not sure. I hope it's today but we will just have to wait and see because we have no idea when she mated and no clue when her due date is.
