Boots Has Her Kittens
by Kim
(England)
We knew that our cat Boots was pregnant as she had been out and about while in heat so we were excited. I then noticed that her nipples had turned pink after about 3 weeks, so she was due on 3rd June.
On the day of 2nd June my daughter went to her nans. Boots then started acting strange so we put a blanket in the spot in our bedroom that she had been lying the last couple of weeks. She then went missing and we found her in our suitcase!!
We left her there as we thought that she must be comfortable. About 10 mins later Boots decided to join us downstairs where she was all over my 5 month old son trying to get him to feed off her and was being very protective towards him.
While being on his lap she started having contractions so we put a towel down on the floor for her. This was at 17:50. Just as the contractions were coming fast my young daughter came home, so my daughter seen her giving birth to a girl which went very well without us having to intervene.
We waited for the next kitten but it wasn't happening. We carried on as normal thinking that she definitely wasn't going to have anymore so decided to go to bed at 22:45. When I noticed that her tummy was contracting again and she started pushing but was having a bit of trouble I gently helped the kitten out.
Again she cleaned the kitten off (which is a boy) and he started feeding. So just under 4 hours later she had her last kitten. Both kittens are now 6 weeks old and are eating and using the litter tray.
