Bindi Babies

Bindi resting

Bindi is my darling cat. My husband found her 2 years ago in the street, she was very sick and probably wouldn't have made it even a few more days, both eyes infected, infested with fleas, starving to death but she had a will to survive. I thought if she wants to fight for her life I was going to fight with her.

Well, she made it! With the exception of a little scar tissue on one of her eyes, she is perfect and I love her so much. The first week of July 2009 my daughter was leaving to go hang out with friends and Bindi snuck through her legs and took off running. I knew she would be back but I had not had her fixed and was worried she may become pregnant. Well, she did.

Today is September 10, 2009 and today Bindi's labor started. I was surprised though because I had read so much about cats giving birth and it said they stop eating, they pace, they nest but Bindi did none of that, she was the first one at the plate for breakfast this morning, she was jumping on furniture like usual.

So I was happily surprised today at about 1:15 pm when my daughter called me to say she noticed something on Bindi and when I looked it was some bloody discharge. Then at 1:48 pm her first beautiful son Taylor was born. I did have to break the sack open because she was eating the placenta but not bothering with the baby at all.

I felt I had to step in at that point. Once I broke open the sack, then she took over. The kitten is now doing great, he looks like his momma. Our other cat Trouble who is like a sister to Bindi and whom Bindi wanted nothing to do with for weeks hasn't left her side. She climbed in the birthing box with her and licked her for hours straight.

I am just a little worried because Bindi clearly has more babies in her belly, however it is now 10:32 pm so it has been 9 hours since the first kitten was born and she isn't even acting like she is in labor, she leaves the baby to go eat and use the litter box.

I am getting so scared that something is not right. Shouldn't the rest of her babies be out by now? I read so much and everything says something different. If anyone has ever gone through this time laps between kittens and everything turned out okay, please e-mail me ASAP at ImAttheOne1@aol.com.

Thank you all so much. I love My Bindi and I pray her and her babies are all okay.
