Ariel Is Almost Ready!!!

Ariels Baby Bump 7/13

Ariels Baby Bump 7/13

I have enjoyed everyone's stories so I was inspired to share ours:)

Ariel is almost a year old and is expecting kittens any day now.

We have a strict policy in our house that animals are spayed or neutered (my husband says he is afraid of Bob Barker, lol).

Ariel is an inside kitty but escapes every now and then for some fresh air. I didn't think anything of it because I thought she was still too much kitten to get pregnant.

Well the morning of her surgery, I got a call that my Maw Maw who I loved so much had passed away:( To be honest I completely forgot about everything, packed my family and drove 10 hours to get to my family.

When we returned a week later, I was soooo busy making up for the time lost I completely forgot to reschedule. I feel awful but, it was an honest mistake at a hard time.

So here we are, I have no idea when she got pregnant but about the time I went to reschedule her appointment, I noticed she was pretty round and her nipples were big. Oh boy. So I did research and determined she was pg. That was over 3 weeks ago.

Now she has hard belly, stays in one room and has milk so I'm thinking any day now. I can feel the active kittens very clearly, I think there are 3:)

We have found homes for one kitten and the rest we are going to keep, that's going to be a fun vet bill but, they are worth it.

I keep reading posts where people attack each other over kittens in shelters dying and not letting your cat have kittens.

I worked at a humane society, I groomed the dogs for mobile adoptions. I understand people bringing animals by the truckload everyday and the unfortunate result, which is why every animal we have ever had has been fixed.

Having said that, some people don't want a shelter animal. For whatever reason they aren't comfortable and would rather have the kittens come from a cat they already know. Just food for thought.

Even though this was not the plan, it is what it is and I am looking foward to taking care of my Ariel's kitties!
