Advice Needed

by Kerry
(UK)

I noticed about 2 weeks ago that my cat's belly was bigger than usual and her nipples had started to stick out which convinced me she was pregnant.

I had an experienced friend of mine look at her and he too thought she was pregnant. Her belly got a little bigger in the past 2 weeks and I'm sure I can feel small lumps in there. But she is not growing any more lately, it's like she has stopped growing.

She is still eating ok and is sleeping alot. I'm starting to wonder if she is pregnant at all of if she has simply put on weight...

Any help and advice would be very welcome.

How pregnant is this cat!
by: Anonymous

This cat adopted us when she became pregnant. We have fed her and she lives on our porch and roams the neighborhood. She is getting bigger, but I can not tell or how do you know how far along she is?

How do they act when they are ready to give birth?

She is a cry baby; she is always meowing and crying, is this a sign?

I think soooo!

I got my cat when he (we thought)was 7 weeks old. Now a year on she just gave birth to 3 kittens. I only realised something was wrong when she was ready for the birth, she had a big belly and she started eating much more than usual, because i thought she was a male the only thing i could think of was worms, within days she gave birth. so if the signs are there and your cat is a female than she most likely is pregnant! Once she gives birth she will want more food.

I think she is!!

My cat didn;t even get big until 2 days before she had her babies! Don;t worry I am sure she is. If your worried take her to a vet. Otherwise watch for these signs: some cats will act differenly either follow you around or want ot be alone. You will find them also in different spots than normal( they want to find a safe place for delivery) make a bed for her! My cat meowed ALOT in the two days before and wanted lots of attenton. I head once you can see the kittens moving it's close. I saw them moving- felt the lumps too and there they were! Also my cats nipples enlarged!!!
Good luck!

Hi your cat may still be pregnent. Take a picture and post it. Also the stomach doesen't keep growing. If it is here first time being prego she may only have on or two babys in there. That is what happened with my cat. Also the lumps are the babies!!!

the kittens are probably ready to come out soon but you didn't mention how far along she was if i were you i would take her to the vet immediately just in case there are dead kittens inside infecting your cat
